Read Write Think
What it is: ReadWriteThink is a collection of FREE lesson plans and interactive student tools that support K-12 literacy learning. These resources are a fantastic opportunity for students to use technology as a tool to learn. There are currently 53 interactive activities with hundreds of detailed lesson plans.
How to use: These are great activities for students to use as Reading Responses. If you have one or two computers in your classroom, use one of the activities as a Center and rotate students. If you have access to a mobile lab or computer lab, each student can spend more time with the activities.
Tip 1: No matter what age students you are working with, you'll avoid a lot of management problems if you create bookmarks to the individual activities instead of to the home page.
Tip 2: Because this site does not require a log in, each project must be completed in one sitting. It would be wise to have students access these tools after they have written, revised, and edited their material.
ReadWriteThink is part of Thinkfinity which contains more tools and lessons in Science, History, Geography, Math, and the Arts. Check it out!
